Centre Overview

Welcome to Jenny’s Kindergarten and Early Learning Padstow. Our Centre is a beautiful Long Day Care and Early Learning Centre located close to schools, public transport and Padstow shops. We are a purpose built Centre which has a unique and special community feel. We pride ourselves on our partnerships with our families and helping each individual child reach their full potential during their time at Jenny’s Kindergarten Padstow. With just a step into our Centre you will feel the warm and positive community vibe we have created with our families, educators and children.

We have recently extended our Centre from 29 children per day to 64 children per day. With a full extension inside and outside of the Centre. Our Centre is made up of four beautiful spacious rooms and a beautiful and inviting outdoor playground providing fixed playground equipment catering for children from six weeks to five years of age.

Our Centre offers French, Jingle Jams & Yoga which is run internally by our educators, we also have Shake ‘n’ Move classes which are run by an external educator. Our Centre includes these within our daily program ensuring the children are provided with the best possible start.

Our educational program is based around the developmental needs and interests of each child, ensuring we include parent and community input into our learning. Our indoor and outdoor facilities provide the children with challenges and experiences to extend their learning. The Centre endeavors to provide the children with a high level of sustainability within our environment encouraging the children to look after their environment and learn how to use recycled materials throughout our provocation stations within each rooms. The Centre also offers the children to gain an understanding of how to use technology through the use of computers, smart TV’s and 3D screens for educational purposes.

Our Centre offers a Specialized Early Learning Curriculum which is run within our Pre Kindy room throughout the year. The program has been developed by our Early Childhood Teachers and in consultation with specialists in the early childhood field and local schools to ensure our children are well equipped and ready for a smooth transition to Primary school.

Our dedicated, highly qualified and experienced team at Jenny’s Kindergarten Padstow look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our Jenny’s Kindergarten Family.

Centre Director
Helen Szmajda

My name is Helen Szmajda, and I am excited to be the new Centre Director for Jenny’s Kindy Padstow. I have worked in education for over 6 years, with a break in the middle to raise my own children. I began my teaching career as a high school humanities teacher before retraining at a Montessori Preschool overseas for 4 years, as I felt that I could make more of a difference to children by connecting with them earlier in life. Since returning to Australia I have completed my Masters of Teaching (Birth to Five) and worked at one of Padstow’s sister centres, Jenny’s Kindy in Mortlake, where I was Assistant Director and Educational Leader.

The philosophy of Jenny’s Kindy strongly aligns with my personal goals: to provide the highest quality care for young children, to interact with children with care and respect, and to guide children through their most rapid period of physical and cognitive growth. I am passionate about the early years as the foundation of children’s learning and development; a vital component of this is strong links between early learning centres, family and the community.

I have three young children, two at primary school and one pre-schooler. I enjoy swimming, cycling and running, anything crafty and reading. I look forward to meeting all the families and children at Padstow, and getting to know you all.
