On Tuesday 5th June the children at Jenny’s Kindy Mortlake had some very special visitors from Concord Fire Station. The children were very excited to see the firemen in their special gear and all they gadgets they had attached to their suits that would help in the case of an emergency. The firemen spoke to the children about what number to call if there was a fire, the importance of going to the firemen if they were to be in a situation where emergency services were called and what to do in the case of an emergency. Together the children practised ‘get down low and go, go, go’ as well as ‘stop drop and roll’.
After their talk the children had the opportunity to go outside and spend some time sitting inside the fire truck and looking at all the different gadgets they have to assist them in helping those in need. The children had such a great time interacting with the firemen, the children thanked the firemen for their visit and created a lovely thank you gift for them to take back with them to the station.
