This last fortnight at Jenny’s Kindergarten & Early Learning Hurstville we have been busy learning about farm animals. All of our children have participated in intentional teaching about animals and arts and crafts that extend on this learning.

We were all very excited when the  Kindifarm came to visit us. The Farmer brought a calf, sheep, lambs, goats, rabbits, ducks, chicks and a pig, they showed us how to crack the whip and sheer a sheep. It was like the sheep was getting a haircut. The children were able to hold, pat and feed the animals and had a wonderful time.

We also had the Hurstville Fire Brigade visit us. The Fireman came in their Search and Rescue truck, this was very interesting as we learnt how fireman and women rescue pets, people, and help in emergencies. The children got to see the big smoke fan, it almost blew us all away!! The fireman also showed us their big cutters and clamps. We are very thankful for our emergency services in our local community keeping us safe! We also learn what is a safe fire and what is a dangerous fire.
