As children from the koalas room are continuously growing and have now started to show interest in participating in group time; we had a longer group time every morning this week. The children sang a lot of songs such as twinkle little star, open shut them and ABC; the children have also loved singing Baby shark.  We also spoke about the four seasons during group time and showed pictures of the four different seasons. For art and craft this week we did a “little monster” foot print. During outdoor play the children helped water the garden and take care of the worm farm. The children finished their week with some exercise and focusing on their gross motor skills.

During this week the children have been learning their seasons and why we have four seasons. The children then started to look for changes in our garden for the signs of spring. The children also played car races, which they then built up a racing track with the construction blocks and learnt to take turns with one another.

This week the pre-kindy room have been working on a sustainability project, transforming our outdoor environment by introducing recycled and natural materials; cd reflectors, shell wind chime, mud kitchen and milk bottle pots to re grow some sweet potatoes. The children have also been engaging in activities set to challenge their fine motor skills and working on school readiness activities.
